DPYD (DEOXYPYRIDINOLINE), URINE
DPYD is formed during collagen maturation in bone and is released during bone resorption. Approximately 40% is found free in urinary excretions and 60% is bound to small peptides. DPYD Free is a sensitive and specific marker of bone resorption.

Pre-test Information:
First morning urine sample recommended. Wrap the container in aluminium foil / dark paper. If used for monitoring therapy , urine should be collected at the same time on each occasion as for the baseline specimen.
