LIVER FIBROSIS PANEL

Non-invasive tests that suggest advanced liver fibrosis include mild elevation of bilirubin, prolongation of prothrombin time, slight decrease in serum albumin and mild thrombocytopenia. Combinations of these blood tests have been used to create models for predicting advanced liver disease. However the confirmatory test is liver biopsy.

  • Pre-test Information:

    Overnight fasting is preferred. It is recommended that patient discontinues Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling as these drugs may affect test results. Discontinuation should be with prior consent from the treating Physician.

  • Report Delivery:

    Sample Daily by 9 am; Report Same Day
