VIP is a neurotransmitter and its excess can cause secretory diarrhea. VIP- secreting tumors are most commonly found in the tail of the pancreas in adults. VIP-producing Ganglioneuromas or Ganglioneuroblastomas may be found in the adrenal glands in children.
